Unalakleet is a large village on the western coast of Alaska, along the Norton Sound. It belongs to the Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States. Unalakleet resides right next to a large, clean Unalakleet River and has trees, tundra and hills behind it.
Unalakleet is located at 63 .52'44 degrees to the North and 160.47'23 degrees to the West. It is 148 miles(238km) southeast of Nome and 395 miles northwest of Anchorage.
The city has a total area of 5.1 square miles(13.3sq.km), of which, 2.9 sq.miles of it is land and 2.3 sq.miles(5.9sq.km) of it(44.25 percent is water.
Unalakleet has a subarctic climate with considerable maritime influences. Winters are cold and dry. Average summer temperatures range to 47 to 62 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter temperatures range from -4 to 11 degrees Fahrenheit. Presipitation averages 14 inches annually, with 41 inches of snow.
